An Introduction:

To give you guys the rundown on Sparkly Fin, we are a band of two very lucky people. About a year ago this time, our first songs were born and we’ve been making music steadily ever since.

I often tell people we are inspired by anything and everything- such as classmates from Transylvania to silly details of current pop culture like M.I.A.’s chorus of gunshots and/or the Hudgester’s “Sneaker Night” music video and always, major motifs of our parents’ musical tastes such as the soothing sounds of Motown to kickass 70’s rock.

Oftentimes our songs are odes to Timbaland & Aaliyah as a duo, Radiohead, Sade, George Michaels, Babyface and other unforgettable legends, but I must not digress. Somehow, it’s not quite figured out yet, but we have always had an amazing synergy when it comes to the recording process. Attempting highly experimental sounds while still pleasing the ear has been a consistent goal of ours. Discussing current musical and visual influences, the day’s weather, memories of trips to the Phillipines and other randomness, we seem to feed off the energy of those conversations and create stuff we love love LOVE.

We are proud of our everpresent pop sound and also our differentiation from it. As long as I have ears to hear and vocal chords to strike, I will be singing the melodies! And I know as long as Joseph has fingers and ears and a heartbeat- he will be making the beats and layin the tracks.

Thanks again to those in California, Maryland, Massachussetts and New York for hitting us up. We are infinitely thankful for your love and attention :D
